Just like yesterday, have a look at my clue below, and suggest any biomimicry applications you can think of in the comments section. I’ll keep all answers private until after I post the answer this evening!

Tumble weed

Many families are having trouble getting their kids outta the family place, but imagine how much more difficult it would be if they were physically rooted to the spot? Well, to help to get their kids on the road, tumble weeds detach from the root base on maturity and head off with the wind, depositing the kids on the way.

Leave your answers in the comments! The prepared answers I have are pretty cutting edge, but lets see what you come up with…

The following is personal opinion, and therefore subjective and biased. It is however relevant to the subject of this blog. It is long, but has 3 SUPER SECRET FUN TIEM Easter Eggs. Normal impartial hard science coverage will resume next week.

While I wanted to stay away from personal bias on this blog, my Dad asked me why I would bother staying up to watch the BBC coverage of the 2012 American Presidential Election. I think he thought I was very keen to get the ‘good guy’ back in power. As a young, libertarian, bordering on a classical anarchist, it would make perfect sense for me to say ‘Barrack is a pro-choice, non-corporate neo-liberal, with minimal religious bias, and a vaguely more constructive view on gun control. Plus <insert comment about how his race is relevant>.’

I wrote this when I was still developing my political vocabularly, and also before Libertarian became associated with the violent attempt at over turning democracy for dictatorship. I’m leaving that paragraph up because I did write that thing, but adding this in because I’ve did some learning, and wouldn’t have written it that way today.
